Giiyo Tech has reached a pivotal milestone in its journey to empower communities with transformative technology. This December, our Founder represented GiiyoTech at the Cardano Constitutional Convention in Nairobi, Kenya, where leaders and changemakers came together to deliberate and sign the historic Cardano Constitution. This milestone marks GiiyoTech’s role in shaping the future of blockchain governance in Africa.
Before this defining moment, Giiyo Tech hosted synthesis workshops in Douala, Cameroon, to gather community insights on blockchain governance. These workshops, conducted with the support of organizations such as Sizo Portal and DIT (Disruptive IT), ensured that the voices of Cameroonians were included in the global conversation about decentralization.
Our journey continued in Nairobi, Kenya, from November 10th to 11th, 2024, when we participated in the synthesis workshops that further refined Africa’s contributions to the Cardano Constitution. These events solidified GiiyoTech’s role as a key advocate for community-driven blockchain solutions, positioning us as a leader in fostering inclusive governance.
The signing of the Cardano Constitution on 6th December 2024 is a monumental achievement for Giiyo Tech. It is not just about participating in a global initiative but about laying the foundations for blockchain governance that reflects African realities. This milestone represents:
Throughout the convention, the focus remained on translating blockchain into practical applications for African communities. Discussions included solving issues like microtransactions (a persistent challenge in Cameroon) and ensuring transparency in governance through secure, decentralized systems.
For Giiyo Tech, this milestone emphasizes a systems-based approach to innovation. Our philosophy is simple: use what we have to build what we need. By leveraging local tools, resources, and knowledge, we ensure that blockchain technology is not just accessible but also relevant to the everyday realities of African communities.
None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our partners, including Sizo and DIT (Disruptive IT). These organizations have been instrumental in amplifying Giiyo Tech’s mission to bring blockchain education and governance to underserved communities.
Giiyo Tech remains committed to:
Our participation in the Cardano Constitutional Convention is more than just a milestone—it is a declaration of our intent to drive Africa’s blockchain revolution. Through education, collaboration, and innovation, Giiyo Tech is setting the stage for a future where technology empowers communities, not divides them.
With this historic moment, Giiyo Tech is more inspired than ever to continue its mission. Together with our partners, communities, and supporters, we are building a blockchain future that belongs to all Africans.
